Baby Shower card (unisex)

Of late, there have been a lot of pregnancies in my church.  Some couples have been eager to find out what the sex of the child was, and there were those who don't want to know.  This card was made for a couple who are waiting until the birth to find out what it is. 

I kind of waited until the last minute to make this card, not really sure what design I wanted to use.  I knew it had to be a simple and clean design that was easy to make within two hours time.  Sometimes, I find that when you have a lot of products, it can make it hard for you to choose the ones in particular you would want to use.

Purse-onality II

The same thing goes for this card as the first one.   Oops!  I just realized that I made no mention as to what size it was; well, here it is.  6 1/2" X 5 1/2".  The Fiskars Apron Lace Punch was used at the bottom of this paper.  Pearl stickers were used on this one for the purse button and clutch.

     This is my glammed-out for God purse series.  Okay, so I've had this thing for purses of late.  I purse-onally don't find anything wrong with it.  I do believe it has heightened my interest and talent skills, perhaps.  They can be suited for any occasion.  Tell me what you think.  I really liked the heidi grace designs harvest flower cardstock.  This cardstock was double-sided.  The front of the paper was used for the background on the card and the purse strip.  The back of the cardstock was used for the purse.  The bottom of the background paper was was punched with a Martha Stewart punch (please forgive me if I have forgotten the name of it).  A purse template was traced onto the printed paper and cut out.  
     Next, it was assembled and adhered to the card.  The gems are from American Crafts, and they were adhered to the front of the purse, as well as, over it to create a clutch effect.  I will be posting another purse card along with this one.

     Hey there!  I hope everyone is doing okay.  I was asked by my daughter if I could make a birthday card for her bff.  Considering I had never met the young lady, I took a designer's stance by asking what she was like, her style, etc.  Well, from the Q&A I obtained this information.  She didn't like the color pink and nothing girly girly.  She was turning 18 years of age, so I definitely had to modify the card.  So this is what I came up with.  This was the first time I worked with a template to create this card. I printed the template from the Internet and enlarged it to 120%. The card template was a three-fold, so scoring was needed.  I have to say I was rather excited and impressed.
     I used the K.I. Memories Funk pad printed paper, Cricut Cartridge - Jasmine Font, American Crafts pearl stickers, DCWV-Colorbok  brown cardstock.  The card measured 5 1/2" X 5".  Don't have time to make one, you can place orders for this particular card at a modest price of $5.00.

 

Fall season - With Sympathy

Hi and welcome back.  Yes, I had to take a three week break, but it was not in vain.  I spent some time making birthday cards, along with some scrapbook layouts, that I perhaps will need to dedicate some more time on.  For me, the Fall season can bring on a sense of lethargy or seasonal affective disorder.  Of late, I've been looking to define my card making style.  Sometimes, I feel as if I can be "all over the place" when it comes to styles and designs.  I also don't want to be confined to a predictable style.  I can proudly say, that over the past year, I have become more creative and knowledgeable of card making tips and techniques.  I'm working harder to apply what I've learned. 
 
For those who are just viewing my blog, by all means feel free to post your comments.  I really don't want to seem as if I'm some kind of card maker in space.

Sometimes, when I'm in my craft room I just want to play.  Well, thanks to my niece's upcoming birthday in November, I had the  chance to do so. Yes it was so fun!Nothing like play with a purpose.  If this cupcake came to life, I would definitely eat it all; How yummy! Color Me Soft

     Okay, so I've somewhat gotten my "mojo" working, where I'm not procrastinating with making and mailing my cards.  I actually did this 
one a week and half before the actual birthday.  I must say, I'm so
inspired by CTMH's "Originals" cardmaking sketch and guide book.  
I'm looking forward to purchasing the CTMH's "Wishes" book for more 
brilliant sketch ideas.  I love the color choices I made for this card. 
I was inspired by the dots in the circles on the printed paper.

Happy Birthday Fall Card

This card design was a scraplift from a Close To My Heart card made for my aunt.  The more I worked on this card, the more I fell "in love" with it.  I guess perhaps,it was the fall color palette and the level of texture.

Thinking of You

Hi and welcome back! Yes, I've been kind of idle...shame on me. I made this card some time during the spring of this year, but I never bothered to post it.  This design used the Close To My Heart "Bella" line of printed paper. I love, love, love the color pallette of this paper line.  As you can tell by now, my style tends to vary depending on the audience or the recipient.  I am definitely learning a lot about myself in the process.

 This card was a scraplift from the Cardmaking with Cricut Idea Book.  I made the card for a dear friend of mine. The argyle die-cut came from the Wild Cards Cricut Cartridge. I used a smaller sized card and different elements for embellishments. For example, the original card in the book used a star underneath the flower. I used a raw chipboard flower.  I used white pigment ink to paint the chipboard flower. I then sprinkled it with white iridescent embossing powder. Then, I used the heat embosser to set the ink and powder.

Mental health break

I have taken a mental health break from making cards.  I have been working on scrapbooking layouts and mini albums instead. At some point I'll be posting those, but for now I believe it would be best if I concentrated on making cards.

birthday card for boy

I love using the Close To My Heart sketches from the "Originals" Idea Book.  The design for this card was for a 6" X 6", but I decided I didn't want it so big.  This just happens to be 5" X 5". The front of the card was scored one quarter of an inch apart. The printed paper was sanded to give it a worn look.  The more I look at the stamp choice, the more I'm not liking it. The dinosaur was cut out from the printed paper, and decopauged with Mod Podge  front and back.  It was adhered with a dimensional adhesive square. The squares were punched using EK Success' square 1 inch, and inked with a dark blue dye ink.  The front cover of the card was also inked around the edges.
